In-depth Review of Eagle Waters Wildlife Resort.
By: Tshireletso Mokate
Eagle Waters Wildlife Resort is situated nicely in the heart of Hartbeespoort dam. As I was scouting for the "perfect" campsite to host Camping RetrEats, I had googled "campsites in Hartbeespoort", and it came up with a few other results. This campsite is must see to appreciate, apart from it green well maintained grass at their campsites, there are stands situated RIGHT BY THE HARTIES DAM, for me upon arrival I was captivated by the scenes of the dam.
The are quite a bit of animals roaming freely here, Zebra and Kudu were the most popular. Although this brough a bit of a wildlife feel, (which was great), the Zebra would later become a bit of a problem as they would raid out campsite for food.
Here are my Thumbs ups
The campiste is quite clean and the grass is taken care of
It is overlooking the Hartbeespoort dam
Not far from nice activities like WaterFreaks, Durt Freaks and Saddle Creek
It is very much kids friendly
Near by shopping complex and Filling station.
Wildlife roaming around.
Enough abultion blocks
Facilities available for children
Thumbs down
- Security is a major issue for me, and not having enough securing patrolling brings alot of problems. Campers end up making noise and disturbing the peace and security is nomally nowhere near to hear it and stop them, if you want something done, you would have to go and find them
- Ablution blocks are enough, BUT the lack of hot waters in some of the showers, taps without shower-heads, and some toilets not flushing correctly or doors not closing properly is a major turn-off.
- The sarrounding charlets and the general resort does not look like it's getting alot of love
- Staff gets very confused and sometimes double-book stands, and they are also very inconsistant with the rules.
- Security is not strict enough on campers who break the rules,
